School Trips to: Isle of Wight

Education Destination is coming to Dorset!

Education Destination are coming to Dorset!

After several years of hosting primary school residential visits on the Isle of Wight, Education Destination is delighted to announce that we are expanding our operations into our stunning neighbour county of Dorset, beginning with the 2024-25 season! Schools will be able to select from single-destination trips to the Island or to Dorset, or have a couple of days in each location with a quick changeover midweek.

Dorset is a beautiful county in the south of England, with a coastline that stretches for over 200 miles. It is home to a variety of landscapes, from rolling hills and meadows to dramatic cliffs and beaches. Dorset is also a popular tourist destination, with many attractions that are suitable for primary school children.

  • Outdoor Activities: Dorset is a great place for children to explore the outdoors. There are many walking and cycling trails, as well as opportunities for swimming, surfing, and sailing
  • Historical Sites: Dorset is home to many historical sites, such as Corfe Castle, Lulworth Cove, and Maiden Castle. These sites provide children with an opportunity to learn about the history of the area
  • Jurassic Coast: The perfect partner to complement our Isle of Wight coastal and fossil studies, the so-called Jurassic Coast of Dorset further extends learning opportunities in these key areas
  • Museums and Galleries: Dorset has a number of museums and galleries, such as the Dorset County Museum, the Russell-Cotes Art Gallery and Museum, and the Tank Museum. These museums and galleries provide children with an opportunity to learn about different subjects, such as art, science, and history

Following a sustained period of growth and an incredible client retention rate, we at Education Destination know we're offering exceptional primary school residential trips at affordable prices. The whole team is looking forward to expanding the array of visitor attractions we can offer our schools by working with trusted partners across Dorset.

— Jon Carter, Managing Director Education Destination Ltd

We are now calling on accommodation providers and visitor attractions to get in touch if you are interested in working with us and benefitting from our experience and marketing.

Accommodation

Our groups typically range in size from 30 to over 100 students aged 10/11 years plus accompanying adults usually in a ratio of around 1:8. We are looking for good quality hotels, guest houses, hostels, dormitories, camping and glamping sites that can offer secure accommodation ideally on an exclusive basis Monday-Friday during term time with the main season running from late March to mid July then mid September to end of October. Ideally you will be able to offer breakfast, packed lunches and evening meals - or have an arrangement with a local caterer to provide these.

Visitor Attractions

Our itineraries are packed with fun as well as educational days out of all types - from animal attractions to museums, theme parks to watersports - if children enjoy visiting your place, we'd love to hear from you.
